Joseph HOWLETT
I know he existed because:
he is named on the marriage record of his Daughter Mary Ann in 1840 as:
"Joseph HOWLETT - Engineer"
He married Mary Ann GILBERT in 1813 in Banham, Norfolk
[Mary Ann was from Banham]
Joseph may have been living in Bury St Edmumds in 1823
when Daughter Mary Ann was born.
It is probably his Wife Mary Ann living in Charles Street,
St Giles without Cripplegate in 1841.
There is of course no relationship or status information on the 1841 Census
but she is with a William GILBERT an Engineer - possibly a Nephew.
a which seems to tie up.
Wife Mary Ann is living in Banham in 1851 and she is listed as a Widow -
So Joseph must have died before 1851.
The Brick Wall is I can't find Joseph HOWLETT on the 1841 Census nor any
record of his birth.

Ralph WALKER
Possibly born about 1762 in Cambridgeshire.
A Ralph WALKER died in 1823 in Swavesey age 69 [= born c1754]
May be him?
On 15th April 1782 in Eltisley, Cambridgeshire he married Sarah WILMER.
Son William was baptised on 7th December 1790 at Swavesey.
