Thomas Mullins [Father of Henry] was born on 21st Mar 1818 and Baptised on10th March 1824 at St George, Bloomsbury.

His Father, also Thomas, a Stay Maker, and his Mother, Sophia were residing at Rathbone Place, St Mary-le-bone.

Land Tax Records c1815 show Thomas Mullins in Cleveland St - on the previous page is Tottenham/Tottm St - possibly Tottenham Court Road.

and also the above image from c1818 for Rathbome Place.

The number 80 is in the "Rents" column - not his age.

Mary Ann Eastman born 17th January 1825 and baptised 13th February at St Paul, Deptford.

Parents of Mary Ann were Mary and William, a Spice Merchant [more about him on another post]. At the time of Mary Ann’s baptism and that of her brother George in 1823, they were living in Bridge Place Deptford.

Map of 1827 showing Bridge Place Deptford.

In 1840 Thomas Mullins, Occupation Oil Man, married Mary Ann Eastman at the Parish Church, St Andrew, Holborn.

At the time they were both living at 30 Goodge Street.

I think I have found them on the 1841 Census but not confirmed due to his Occupation now being a Grocer and Sarah Mullins born 1824 possibly Thomas’s sister? Also, no place of birth available on the 1841 however it says Mary Ann was not born in the County (Middlesex) and our Mary Ann was born in Deptford, Kent.

This entry is for Eagle Street, St Andrew Holborn (above the bars). On the 1851 Census daughters Mary A and Isabella are both stated as born St Andrew Holborn so this would tie up.

On the 1851 Census the family is living at 66 Wilstead St., St Pancras.. Thomas’s Occupation is Cab Man.

Note: Place of birth stated as St Anns Soho – Rathbone Place leads to Soho Square.

1862 Map showing Wilsted Street.

One the 1861 Census Thomas and Mary Ann are living at (possibly number 3) Arundel Place, Islington. Family includes Son Thomas born 1845 [not on the previous Census]

In 1871 Thomas and Mary Ann are living at 85 St James Road, Finsbury, Lower Holloway, St David’s Islington.

1881 and Thomas and Mary Ann are not together:

4 Drummond Crescent, St Pancras

Drummond Crescent is right next door to St Pancras Station. St Pancras station was opened in 1868. It is possible if Thomas was a cabman that he lived close to the station to pick up passengers.

And Mary Ann is at 47 Southerton Road

Southerton Road runs parallel to Overstone Road in Hammersmith.

Son Henry is married and living with his family in Overstone Road in 1881

I think Thomas may have died in 1883.

1891 Mary Ann, now widowed, is at 29 Southerton Road, Hammersmith with Children: Isabella L, William H and Annie B. and in 1901 still at 29 Southerton Road with Isabel [sic] and Annie.

I think Mary Ann Mullins nee Eastman died in 1902.
