Katty was living with Euphemia at 253 Lewisham Way Brockley in 1941 (P Hornbrook’s will).

She was living with Katty Cross at 52 Westbourne Road Forest Hill (Lewisham) in 1917 (codicil to Percy Hornbrook’s will).

Family information:

Katty lived in Lewisham and used to smoke ‘Black Cat’ cigarettes in a long holder.

Auntie Katty lived in Lewisham Way where she had the ground floor of a large Victorian house opposite the South East London Technical College. She was a very smart, well spoken lady, no doubt a result of the good education she received when she was looked after by relatives after Mr Cross's death. Cannot remember when Auntie Katty died but I think she was in her eighties. She went into hospital and then into a nursing home in Peckham, where she died. Katty was a secretary and belonged to the League of Health and Beauty. Grace said she used to ride a motorbike. When she wanted to sell it, a man came to see it and asked if he could try it out round the block. She never saw him or the bike again. So no money for the bike.

There are photos of Katty on holiday with Florence and Percy Hornbrook.

Euphemia died 23rd of Feburary 1941 in St Alfeges Hospital, Greenwich. She was aged 87.

Her home address was with Katty at 253 Lewisham Way, Brockley.

Katty died 1977 in Lambeth.
